| Title: | Fly Buys | |

| Recently, I found myself at home with nothing to do around dinner time. As I flatly resuse to watch fucking Neighbours, I found myself watching TodayTonight. For those who don't know, TodayTonight is an excuse for a television show hosted by some stroppy harlot who is in desperate need of getting a good cock up her. They were running a story on Fly Buys. The manly and ultra serious voice over was saying things like "Up Next. Fly Buys. The great shopping con. Is it really value for money? That story, plus more, coming up". Ok, this sounds like it'll be worth watching, I thought to myself, thinking it was another story about how supermarkets jack up their gorcery prices by a few cents here and there to cover their losses when people use their discount dockets at petrol stations etc. All this story did was give a break down of the Fly Buys rewards point system and how much you need to spend before you get so many points. As I can't specifically recall details, I'll settle for vague estimates here, but it was something like: $25 = 1 point. Trip to Thailand = 4,000 points. Therefore, Trip to Thailand = $100,000. Outrageous!! The story then did a Vox Pop type survey of people who use these cards at various stores. They were asking questions like: "Do you feel sucked in?" "Do you think it's a misleading rewards system?" "Are you upset with the way companies use these rewards to gain sales?" etc. Now, what I would like you to do is ask yourself the above questions given the information so far. Have you answered "yes" to any of these questions? If you have, you're a fucking idiot with unreasonable needs/demands from society. Fly Buys is FREE to join, it DOES NOT COST ANYTHING to use, there are NO FEES involved in this rewards system whatsoever. Of course they aren't going to be giving you a fucking trip to Thailand every time you go down the corner store because you've fucking run out of milk!! It's a business after all, you dickhead!! You will also find that major Supermarkets (Coles), Department Stores (MYER) and Petrol Stations (Shell) all have Fly-Buys, meaning that when you do use it, you are most likely NOT going out of your way to use it at all!! So, to all the people who are feeling "duped", "ripped off" and "annoyed" at this clever scheme to rope them into being a part of this system, I have this to tell you. You should all fucking snap your cards in half and cash in the points you have accumulated to buy youself a fucking piece of perspective. |
