Title: It's been a while...

Author: Toam Posted: 23-02-2007

It’s been a while since I wrote my last rant but I’m still as bitter and angry as ever. And to top it off I’ve been taking public transport with no discman or similar distraction. As such I have been forced to hear peoples mundane conversations.

Last night I was innocently sitting on the tram minding my own business when a guy and a girl got on and sat across from me. At first I thought the girl was retarded or had something wrong with her because she sounded so fucking stupid but then I realised they was just an obnoxious idiot with an annoying voice.

Pretty much everything this girl said annoyed me purely based on the tone of her verse and her use of emphasis. For example she said “Okaaaaaaay”. The unnecessary hanging on the ‘ay’ generally symbolises a low IQ. It’s on par with saying “you’s” (which I am guilty of occasionally saying however I, unlike most others, would argue that I am using it as an abbreviation of “you guys” which I will admit is incorrect. However I can at least explain the origin of my lazy English).

After this they talked about how much rent they pay and where they live. The annoying chick lived at Docklands and she paid as much rent for her room as we pay for our entire house. The comparatively less annoying guy was shocked at how much she paid but then went on to say how much he paid which I forget but it was stupid too. Now I know that they live really close to the city and all but it’s still fucking unnecessary. Her defence was “Well I don’t pay, my parents do!”. The guy said something along the lines of “Same here!” and then they both giggled incessantly.

I fucking hate people that get by solely on their rich parents basically paying for them to waste their lives away in some fucking pointless arts degree or something. Anyway then they talked for a while about how much they go out. The guy was saying “I went out this night and this night and then I have to go out this night as well” Oh you poor guy, you have to live in your house for free and then go out all the time and drink all this alcohol and probably take a bunch of drugs. Wow, you’re awesome.

Then the girl proceeded to call one of her stupid faggot friends who I think was her boyfriend but it’s hard to tell because these stupid annoying chicks call everyone “Babe” and “love” everyone. But she whinged about how her friend was going out to some stupid place and her friend wouldn’t come and so whoever she was talking to should come out instead. During the conversation she said this exact words:
“Me and you so totally have to catch up, hello!”

I was unbelievably close to just vomiting in absolute fucking disgust at this point (this is the most insulting way to express disgust). I try not to cause scenes and things like that (otherwise I would constantly be hurling abuse at people on public transport because they are mostly fucking annoying. However I really felt like grabbing the guys face and using it to smash the girls face in, I was just so annoyed at how dumb they were. I know this probably seems like an over-reaction since I am summing it up fairly briefly.

Anyway, with that ordeal over the rest of the night was alright. However tonight I was on a tram again (the same tram coincidentally) and there was some annoying woman sitting next to me. She was on the phone which I didn’t realise at first because I really try not to eavesdrop on people but when you are sitting next to me on the phone I am going to hear what you are saying.

Now, at the point that I couldn’t stop myself tuning it out she was saying how someone had said something to her and she didn’t like it so she just “had to walk out”. From how she said it I assumed it was her boyfriend or something and I thought maybe it was fair enough. Then she said “Yeah but I don’t care who he is you don’t talk to people like that”. So at this point I decided it was a few different possibilities: She was talking about an obnoxious famous person (or similar) who thinks they are better than everyone and deserve some sort of special treatment or it was someone who had a legitimate superiority (such as an employer).

Very soon after that I was able to determine that it was her talking about her boss and how it was great because they desperately need her at the moment as they were understaffed. She kept complaining about how you don’t talk to people like that etc.

I wondered what had been said. I didn’t have to wonder long however. She soon said how the boss had said to her (presumably exact words) ‘What, is work too fucking hard for you?” at which point she gathered her things and left. I think I know the answer to his question. She then went on to say how “You can’t treat people like that, it’s so unprofessional!”

Well I’m glad she set an excellent example for everyone by showing just how a true professional should act by having a sook and walking out in the middle of your shift while the place (which was a restaurant/bar) is busy. A perfectly professional attitude, top marks all round.

She then went on to tell her friend how it is funny, recapping how they need her because they are understaffed. I hope very much that they find extra staff and she is never able to hold a job because I like to see failures fail. Another thing I noticed while trying not to scowl at her was that she did not shave her legs. I decided that she was a nazi-feminist – which explains the leg hair and the self-righteous attitude.

More next time I catch public transport….

Fuckwits have colletively raised $231 towards an iPod for Toam so that he doesn't listen to them and get angry
